Community Involvement

Kyo-ya is committed to strengthening the communities where it does business by partnering with local nonprofit organizations, community establishments and community leaders who share the same vision and passion for making a difference. We believe strong communities are vital to the well-being of our society and feel we have a special responsibility as a good corporate citizen.

Our mission is to give back by supporting local charitable programs that help others in their time of need, providing volunteer opportunities for our associates to improve the community, and initiating programs and activities to allow guests to learn about and enjoy the culture in each community.

Annually, Kyo-ya’s associates commit more than 4,000 volunteer hours to dozens of organizations, and many associates dedicate their time to serve on the board of directors of numerous non-profit organizations.

Kyo-ya also has organization-wide partnerships with Make-A-Wish, Historic Hawaii Foundation, and University of Hawaii. And each year it supports Aloha United Way, Visitor Industry Charity Walk and the Children’s Miracle Network through fundraising efforts at our hotels.
